Let me start by saying how happy I am to get a chance to do a review of this site. The pictures and video clips from it have always been in my top 5, and I have often visited the tour to check out their high quality previews. Before I had my first credit card I was visiting the site, and trawling the web for free alsscan pictures.

Well, password in hand I went to the members area and you won't believe how hot the babes on alsscan are. Not until you visit, that is. There are around 150 different models, and if I really try I think I can find 4-5 that I don't like... And my standards are high !
On the other hand there are maybe 10 models that were in my all time favorites even before entering the members area. To mention a few of the more well-known: Jade, Jana Cova, Ember, Taylor Rain. Many have started their career at alsscan, which means that you may find the very first pictures of your current favorite model here.

Alsscan is mainly a picture site, there are some videos too, but the main focus is on good pictures. Videos are mostly recorded during the picture-shoot, so you'll hear the photographer talking with the model, and see the flash going off all the time. This means that you get to see very explicit fisting, closeups of bald pussies, lesbians licking and anal dildo insertions. But there is not a lot of pounding going on, the shoot is for pictures, and pictures turn out better if everything is kept still. However it also means that you get to see the girls acting 100% natural, and you can see that they're having a blast taking these sexy pictures. There are also some clips that are made for the video itself, but it's a minority.

The shoot usually starts with softcore poses, and then develops: stripping off clothes, masturbation, and sometimes (often) ends out with huge insertions of either dildos, fruits, vegetables, everyday objects and of course the ultimate insertion: Fisting.
A lot of the girls have done self-fisting shoots, I wasn't aware that almost anyone can actually do that, but it sure seems that way !
Of course many shoots also include the all-time favorite: The speculum (you know, the see-trough plastic thingie doctors use to open up and look inside the pussy).
Lesbian sex scenes are not uncommon either. IMHO lesbian fisting videos are some of the hottest.

Alsscan is a weird site in some ways, it is mostly a softcore site, but a lot of shoots develop into very hardcore situations, expect to see peeing girls, incredible insertions and self fisting. Not something that would normally be considered softcore !

Video updates are posted daily, but as opposed to most sites they are not archived forever, they are available for 4 weeks only. That means that at all times you will have 30-35 videos available for download. They do come back sooner or later as a "blast from the past" update, but there's no telling when, so you better download everything you like as soon as you see it. They are doing this to cut down bandwidth usage and prevent anyone from ripping the entire site in one month. As long as the update frequency is as high as it is I think it's OK, but you should be aware that there will rarely be more than about 10-15 hours of video available at any given time.
On top of the daily videos you get about 35 "all time favorites" that are, as far as I can see, always available.
I can't tell how many pictures are available, the tour claims 30.000, I would guess more. I can't tell, but there are a lot: At least 150 different models, who each has many pictures.

I haven't visited alsscan for a while, and when I was taking the tour today I was more dissappointed than I have been in a long time, probably due to my high expectations to this site. The graphics are unprofessional, there is no decent overview and the speed is just terrible. Digging a bit further into the tours I realized that the members server was seperate, and frankly with the reputation ALSscan has I'm not surprised there are more visitors checking out the tour than a normal webserver can handle.

Let me say a few things about the design first... The graphics are no more professional than they are in the tour, it looks like a site that I could have thrown together in a day when I was 15 (yes, I've been a geek for a long time). Luckily my primary objective is to judge the porn, not the graphics. I just want to tell you that you shouldn't expect a high-res, year-2039, sci-fi interface !

That being said my first impression of the navigation was that it gave a great overview, there are only 5 different content-sections, so you'll learn those fast. The level below the main page gets a bit more messy though. I won't bore you with details, but just say that it takes a while to get a decent overview over the site.

Ok, enough about design and navigation, who really cares, right? We're here to check out the girls !
Pictures are in focus, well-lit (often outdoors in sunshine) and I can't put a finger on them. Even the resolution, which is often forgotten about on other sites, is absolute top quality here, up to 1400x920 pixels (I bet that's more than your monitor).
Unlike many sites alsscan actually has outtakes, which means that you don't have to see all the pictures that did not turn out well. Some of them are still available, but in a different section.

Video quality is likewise near-perfect, and in addition to being good photography-wise, they are delivered in resolutions unheard of on most websites. Many actually come in true DVD-quality! Formats are DivX and WMV, Windows Media Player.

The site lacks any search functionality which would have been very appropriate on a site this big, and that is an annoyance. The only way to locate picture sets is through the model name, and the only way to locate videos is through the daily update lists, they aren't even shown on the models picture page.

Navigation and design alone fails to meet my standards, but the more important factor is still the pictures and videos. -Both of which are excellent.
